Feeling fabulous in Fabulous Furs
I have to talk about one of my favorite things... faux fur! As the Eco friendly, yet fashion loving girl that I am, Fabulous Furs ( www.fabulousfurs.com ) makes me soooo happy...not only is it not hurting animals, it is also designed and made locally in Covington KY (across the river from Cincinnati). LOVE them! As a Midwest girl, I need warmth, as a designer I need chic, and as a consumer I need affordable. Fabulous furs has given it all to me!
And the winner is.....
Rod and I had a splendid time at an Academy Awards party. We dressed in our finest and had loads of fun! Of course I chose my favorite dress, but notice I switched up the accessories. If you look at me in this Garnette Avenue dress, at the Debi Awards, I completely changed the look by changing all accessories (yes, even the hair color). This is a great example of how accessories REALLY makes the look and the feel for the occasion. At the Debi Awards, I felt more fun, playful and animalistic. At the Oscars, I was all about Old Hollywood glam! Rod went for chic (jeans with dagger belt, dagger shoes, and of course hip snake bracelet) with a slight Cary Grant debonair twist, suit coat and tie.
Now let's talk about the jewels....key into a few of the upcoming pieces in the 2009 fall/winter Bridal line. Dazzling Swarovski crystal necklace and bracelet, fabulous earrings and a gorgeous Swarovski leaf hair comb... I will start showcasing some of these new lovers at my upcoming trunk shows!
Lastly, I decided to go back to blonde....It seems that every time I create a new jewelry line, my hair changes to go with that line. So I went back to my blonde "roots". Cheers!

Nolyn Thomas has arrived!
For those of you who know Nicole (office manager for MEG Jewelry), she had a beautiful baby boy on February 15th. Now even though he was born the day after Valentine's Day, he still captured every person's heart who has met him. He is simply perfect! Bravo Nicole! Everyone is healthy and happy! Stay tuned for pictures.....

Winter Pastimes...
My run this morning was an icy, crunchy, wind-in-your-face-to-make-my-eyes-tear kind of run. Nothing horrific like tales I hear from the mid-west and such, but cold enough to inspire me to order some fluffy bulky yarn and knit a sweater for my daughter.
Above is the test swatch for gauge. It will be a turtle neck sweater, cropped at the midriff with long, bell-like sleeves, full of cables and baubles--pattern from Vogue Knitting.
I have Tucson at the end of the week to look forward to however. Forecast below:
Not too shabby! I'm going out this year to join the hoardes who search for gems, beads, jewelry and supplies each year. I'm hoping to find scads of yummy new stones for 2009 creations. My sisters and I are all meeting out there to make it a little reunion and winter getaway at the same time. I have several books ready to read while lounging in the sun and I suppose I'll pack the sweater I'm making as well. I'll post a few pics on my return and maybe some while I'm there.
I'm promised good internet service at the resort where I'm staying so I am leaving my shop open. All items purchased while I'm gone will enjoy free priority mail shipping in the US and a deal on expedited shipping for Valentine gifts. To have an item shipped before I leave, please order by Tuesday at the latest.
A couple of recent posts in my etsy shop here:
